Dead Come December
When Michael Carter purchases a long-abandoned mountain lodge once owned by legendary horror novelist Jakob Harlowe, he believes he's finally giving his family the fresh start they deserve. Together with his new wife Sarah and her two daughters, he plans to transform the property into a thriving bed-and-breakfast and leave the pain of the past behind.
As the months pass, each member of the family begins experiencing increasingly vivid visions tied to their deepest fears and regrets. Michael is haunted by the wife and child he lost, Sarah is stalked by the memory of the abusive husband she escaped, and the children encounter impossible figures wandering the surrounding woods. When the family discovers the eerie connections between their experiences and the stories written by the lodge's previous owner, they begin to suspect that something is living in the mountains… something that has been watching them since the day they arrived.
By the time winter descends upon Harlowe Lodge, trust has eroded, reality has fractured, and survival may already be impossible. This project is currently being written as a Novel. Please check back later for sample chapters as they become available.
